Who is your audience?

My friend Greg Fallis made this point during our discussion on relevance: “Relevant to whom? To what? Relevance requires a target of some sort – something or someone to be relevant TO.” I connected this point to the most important question any business must answer regarding marketing with social media: Who is your audience?

Marketing in the traditional way of saying, “Here, I have this thing to sell!” is certainly gone. It is more important to make connections, and to offer something of value that will keep an audience around when the time comes to announce your message. 

What is your niche? What do you offer that will hold daily attention? What are creative ways to connect without getting spammy?
